The Tokyo Metro map is now available! You can download it in English, Japanese and Korean! Why that three? Well, the first two seems obvious, but I felt that the Metro Map in Korean would also be helpful for Koreans (I’m half, so I’m a little biased) working in Tokyo.
Other updates include two (yes, two) subway maps of Milan, Italy sent to me by two separate visitors. Many thanks to Iacopo Boccalari and Giuseppe Bonetti for their wonderful maps. Also, I recieved a second version of Melbourne, Australia from Timothy Leung. Thanks guys!
I have more to talk about the Tokyo Metro map after the jump…

So this might be old news at this point, but according to the folks at AppleInsider, Steve Jobs might be unveiling a new color screen iPod Mini at this year’s Apple Expo, being held in Paris from September 20-24.
Of course you know that will mean soon (hopefully!) we’ll be offering subway maps for your iPod mini! Does anyone by chance have a clue what kind of screen resolution these will have? It would be fantastically awesome to have all current maps up and ready for the iPod mini as soon as they’re available.
Anyway, in preparation for the Apple Expo, I’ve uploaded subway maps for Paris. These were graciously sent to me by M-Rick. He also sent a set for Lyon, France as well. Thanks M-Rick!

Well here they are, I’ve been busy the last few weeks working on the site — well, parts you can’t see quite yet at least — so this will be another set of user submissions.
Today I’ve uploaded subway maps for Berlin, Germany; Bilbao Spain; Singapore and Salt Lake City, UT. Many thanks to the contributors!

Can you believe it? We’ve done so well for ourselves in one week! Thirteen maps to download already with more to come! I’m excited to see more and more people submitting maps to the site and look forward to more in the future!
I have a question though. Are there any other features you’d like to see featured on iPodSubwayMaps.com? iPod news? Apple news? Subway news? Reviews? Anything like that?
Please, let me know! Comment below! Let me hear you!
Oh, and ps – send in your action shots!

So I’ve received a fair amount of submissions for the site, and haven’t had a few minutes until just now to upload them to the site, but they’re here now.
Now we’ve got maps for San Diego, CA by Jared Cohen, Melbourne Australia by Piers Morgan, and updated Hong Kong maps by Si Chun Lam! Thanks to everyone for contributing!

It’s been a busy weekend thus far. I’ve got the blog running, so now you can comment here and give feedback. I look forward to hearing from you!
So we’ve finally got Los Angeles up, which was in high demand. Also, I’ve got Toronto, Montréal and Vancouver up and online as well. Enjoy the maps!
ps – yes, it’s 4am.
pps – the Tokyo subway map is even more frightening than London!

It’s done! Finally! This map is the most requested subway map I’ve encountered yet. I broke the London Underground map into two sections: a map of Central London, and a full Underground map. This one took two hours to do.
I’ve received some user-submitted maps and I promise to get them up as soon as possible. And yes, I’m aware that the Hong Kong map is out of date, I’ve got an updated version via a submission, it’s just a matter of getting it up and online. This isn’t my day job, so I do this all in the evenings after the gym ("Hey baby, I work out . . .") and dinner (yes, I stop to eat like a human) so bear with me if your requested map hasn’t been posted yet. It will be, I promise!

Allrighty. Chicago and San Francisco are done. I hope no one will ever have to sing the song I left my iPod in San Francisco. Oh yes, I went there. So things seem to be picking up around here. More and more traffic which, of course, I love. Spread the news!
Next: iPodSubwayMaps goes International!
London, Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa?
ps – the London Underground is a nightmare!

I’ve been Gawkered again! This time by its sister (child?) site, Lifehacker! To think, two days ago I read an entry on their site where someone put Google Maps on their iPod Photo, which prompted me to do the New York MTA Subway map onto my iPod Photo. From there I figured why not share it?
Maps to come: Boston Silver Line update, San Francisco, Chicago, London, Lions, Tigers and Bears oh my!
August 10, 2005
I’ve just made iPod Photo maps of the DC Metro system as well as the Boston T. Along with it, I’ve added a new feature: the map breakdown. This way you can view the full map, with boxes indicating which image corresponds with which section of of the subway/metro system. I’m still tinkering with the look and feel of the map breakdowns, but I think I’ve nailed it down.
Addendum: Apparently the Boston map I was working on was out of date — it does not include the Silver Line. I’ll be taking care of that tonight, folks!
Agencies would do well to find ways to work with folks with good ideas instead of just turning loose the lawyers.
Might the MTA have overreacted and in doing so deprived commuters of something useful?
The man's trying to do good in the world.
